So as some know I live in a household with 8 other people...sometimes 10 LOL. Well this last week 1 went back to his house and the rest went on a trip to Mexico for the week. Let me tell you this: THE SILENCE HAS BEEN FABULOUS!!!!!!
When in a home with 4 adults, 3 teens, 1 almost 9 year old, and then the neice who is 20 who just moved in until she and her BF (who was here for an entire week) can find their own place, the noise and fighting levels are often so high one just wants to run away.
This week that they have been gone I have realized that I like my husband a lot even when it is just the two of us. I have learned that my son who is 16 is not the trouble maker that he is constantly made out to be because there werent any issues with only him here. And I am ready for the kids to grow up and begin their own lives.
I love my kids and I like the roomies and all but sometimes having just a bit of silence is priceless. Now they are approximately 8 hours from home and I really wish that the cruise was just a little longer LOL. Now Monday will bring on the chaos of them getting everything back in order after being gone for a week. The groceries will have to be purchased. The dinners will have to be cooked. And the fight about who is going to do the dishes will begin again. I can already feel the stress level in me rising and the dread of what Tuesday is going to be like because I know it will not be that much fun for anyone especially me.
Oh well it was great while it lasted and it is only a few more years before the youngest is out trying his world legs and it can be just me and the husband again.
