Pics of making the spicy eggrolls

Spicy eggrolls:

2 packages of cream cheese in bowl and room temp.

3 jalapeno peppers cut into small sections

2 habenero peppers cut very very very small

1 package bacon deepfried and broken into bits

wonton wraps

Mix the bacon, peppers, and creamcheese with your hands to make sure it is good and mixed. Lay out one wonton wrap and place about 1T of mixture 1/4" from corner...we are gonna roll it from corner to corner. Roll half way and tuck in flaps stickin out the sides. Use small dab of water on finger and spread on last corner to seal wonton.

Heat up deep frier to a delish hot temp. Place 3-6 (depending on frier size) at a time making sure they cook evenly. Remove and drain when golden brown.

Use sweet n sour sauce, hot sauce, or pepper jelly to dip and enjoy....be careful hot cream cheese can be like hot lava.

Pepper jelly:

Combine 1 bell pepper chopped finely, 3 jalepenos chopped finely, 2 habeneros choped finely, in sauce pan. Add 2 cups sugar, 1/2 cup vinegar. Heat to a boil stiring constantly. DELISH!!!! Good on egg rolls, for dipping meats, for a glaze for meats...yummy and spicy!!!

  6. GrammieMommie one of the fabulous things with this recipe is that you can use whatever peppers you want. It is definitely a to your taste kinda thing.

Where is the deep fryer in the photos?

(It ought to have it own special place, I think.)

  9. wow. this sounds good.

so if you don't have a deep fryer, can you do it by baking them? does it lose some its tastiness? if i don't have the makings for pepper jelly, would a spicy raspberry sauce or apricot chutney work? i'm thinking they will, now that i typed that. (:

might have to try a cheap-o variation!

    thanks!

  10. Rhys I totally think that you could bake them. They may not be as crispy but if you used a little oil in the pan and turned them I bet they would totally work baked. And as for the pepper jelly substitution I think that any spicy sauce would work wonders....the key thing for the sauce is to be sweet with a kick :)

If you try it you HAVE to let me know how it works cause I may have to give it a whirl myself.
